I thought that going into this, we, as landlords, would come out looking like the knights in shining armor. But now I am having significant doubts.

I have been reading about poor industry after industry who has/is suffering and I feel like our industry/group representatives are blowing it. They should be out there screaming about how every one else has laid people off, we still provide shelter.

That we are doing the most to protect them from the virus.

That we have exercised best practices to ensure that they will have shelter while we workout rent payments.

That we are still employing and paying construction, contractors and maintenance people.

That we are still paying for even more utilities as our dwellings become 24/7 office spaces, childcare spaces and virus protection. And more in wear and tear!

That every derelict tenant has taken advantage of the ongoing National Emergency.

WTF! Talk about the missed opportunity!
