Detroit - Landlord Insurance Agent Recommendation?

Account Closed

Hello,

I recently purchased a single family home in Detroit, Michigan, as an investment property. It would appear that nearly every agent that I've spoken with wants me to switch my auto insurance policy or home insurance policy before they will even quote me a landlord insurance policy.

I'm only interested in the landlord insurance policy, so can anyone recommend an insurance agent/agency that can do this in the Detroit, Michigan, area?

Thanks all.

I will explain an agents point of view. You are asking him to take on a very risky policy but won't give him your lower risk policies. If our loss ratios are bad then our carriers cancel us and/or take away profit sharing bonus'. You have to give an agent the good with the bad so the premium for the cleaner risks offset a low premium/high hazard rental. If your current home/auto company won't come through on the rental... give the business to a company or agent that can.
