AppFolio users in Minnesota

I'm looking to get in contact with anyone that uses AppFolio for their property management software in Minnesota.  Particularly if you deal with the accounting aspect.

We have been using AppFolio since Jan 2019 for our self managed properties, and it has been fantastic.  We are expanding our business and are starting a property management company to manage other investors properties.  I have a few questions regarding some of the MN laws and the logistical set up of the trust accounts required.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Karen Higgins

Hi Karen, I am curious as well and want to follow this thread. I am considering it to manage syndications/small fund, would you recommend it for that purpose, we will not be managing the properties.

@Carlos Cristiani - we are using it as a property management software, which has been fantastic.  I went to their conference last month and received a wealth of information.  From my understanding, the software is primarily for property management and property based accounting but they just introduced a new platform "AppFolio Investment Management" for the purpose of syndication / fund management.  Here is a link to learn more https://www.appfolioinvestment...

    Good luck!

It makes sense now why I cannot seem to find enough information on the investment management feature. I liked what they presented and it feels both intuitive and simple, which is exactly what I need. Thanks for the feedback on the property management side, it is very helpful.

@Karen Higgins@Carlos Cristiani - I have been an RE investor/bookkeeper for a number of years and primarily use QB but dove head first into Appfolio as my business partner is subscribing it to build his property management business as well as to maintain our common and his personal portfolio.  I would be happy to discuss my take and very curious to hear the questions that Karen has.  I live in the Southern Metro but work in Hopkins.  So let me know if you guys want to get into a zoom call or get some coffee and nerd out property management accounting.
