Are Spouse And I Sole Proprietor or Partnership?

My wife and I are moving and getting ready to rent our townhouse to tenants. I am getting ready to open a business checking account and apply for a business credit card. One of the questions they ask is what type of business it is. As a married couple are we considered one entity (sole proprietor) or a partnership.

Also, under "business name", do I just list both of our names? We decided against an LLC. Is it a good idea to create a DBA?
