Has anyone thought about building a house and renting it out?  I live in the Dallas area and with the way prices currently are, I am starting to think this might be a more affordable route.  Plus I could make sure the house is sound.  I do know loans work differently for building compared to buying, but I am curious if anyone has given this a shot.
