What are amendments and/or changes that you put in your lease?
After putting your rental contract and properties
to the test, what are some amendments/addendums that y’all (Texas) have added.
My personal example is: any items left behind by the tenant after vacating the property will belong to the landlord.
I did this after I had a tenant just abandoned a property with all his contents. Of course, I did the normal eviction process and a writ of removal, but still had to get the stuff out and to the street. This addition to the contract will make this process easier to deal with next time.

You followed the eviction process in Texas. There is no addendum that is going to allow you to subvert or alter the timeline
In the event that a tenant leaves property when moving out, I hope you provide notice of abandonment with a reasonable timeline for declaring property abandoned. Texas law does not clearly define this issue. Keep in mind if a tenant ever sued you regarding this that JP Judges are elected officials with no legal background required and are not bound by precedent.
