Utilities; Which provider do you recommend

I know there will be a lot of variance on this topic and I know that utility companies vary by name all over the US. For as much as I deal with real estate and properties, I feel i need to be more knowledgable regarding utility companies. On the utilities you pay, what type of rates are you looking for. Often times, no name companies will offer up good service, are they legit? What the best way to save money on utilities and what are you doing for the utilities that you are paying the bills on.......
