Uptown (downtown) Charlotte - sell or hold?
I currently own my condo in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. I’ve owned for 10+ years and it has been my primary residence the entire time. Now my job is relocating me to Asheville and I’m considering selling the condo or renting it out. There is development going on all around my condo including the new street car light rail line going right in front of my building. No ‘for sale’ condos are being built now; most everything is for rent. If I rent the condo the rent revenue barely covers the mortgage. If I sell it I will cash in on decent equity. However, if I sell I will be losing out on possible appreciation and paying down the mortgage. What should I do? Sell it or hold it and rent it out?

Sell. Put $ into a sfr for better appreciation and control
