Tenant compensation for being inconvenienced
Here is the scenario.
Ground level condo I am renting to a tenant.
There was a water leak that pooled into the bathroom. Tenant was very prompt to call me and try and mitigate water damage etc.
Condo corp was liable and had emergency crew in immediately. From start to finish it was 10 days (weekend in there) Between initial emergency, drying areas with industrial fans to mudding and sanding.
My tenant was inconvenienced with a few items washer, dryer and dresser being moved then people in and out etc. Plus not able to do laundry.
Question is this: what is acceptable in regards to compensating him for his trouble? Legally I don’t think anything is but....
