Management needs to repair row of garages on alley. All garages have loads of stuff and junk stored. Management claims garages must be empty to repair and expects all of us to rent trucks, haul our stuff to storage, and shlep it back at our expense. Can they do this legally?

I think they have made a reasonable request. I guess you could leave your stuff in the garage and it might get damaged or stolen.

The landlord is expending money to make your garage up to date. I think the least you could do is move your stuff out of the way so he can get the job done.
