So...then rehab that I have in progress does not have a water pipe running into the house. I have to excavate the sidewalk in order to run a new pipe. Are any of you familiar with this process and the cost it entails?

If you are just crossing a sidewalk , you just dig down on both sides and drive a piece of pipe thru to get under .
