Dealing with tenant non- work sources of income (Disability, etc.)
What is the correct way to deal with this? Do you ask for additional bank statements, tax returns to see if the person has enough savings to supplement their Social Security benefits and qualify for 3X gross income?
What about people collecting Disability? Do you have to accept them even if you have a "must be employed" requirement in your criteria--are they a protected class?
Also what about someone who is collecting unemployment checks, but has savings? Would you pass?
