Letters to New Tenants

I am currently in contract to purchase a tenant occupied duplex, and have mixed thoughts on how I introduce myself to the tenants. The property is out of state, and will be handled by the same property management company that is currently handling it.

My question is, what do you typically do when you introduce yourself to new tenants? Do you send them a letter? Do you thank them for working with the seller on getting in for appraisals / inspections etc? Do you give them a little background of yourself?

Like I noted above, the property will be handled by property management, but I'm a people person and would want to have some type of communication, so they don't think that I'm some out of state investor that doesn't give a hoot about them, or their situations.

I also want to use this letter to reiterate the points of what I expect of the tenants while they live there. Including the requirement to notify property management ASAP if there are damages that could cause concern to safety, and any maintenance they feel is needed.

What types of letters do you typically write up (if any), and would you mind sharing a sanitized copy?
