American Standard Champion 4 - Tank Leak

A couple of years ago I posted a question regarding the best toilets for rental properties. Several folks recommended the American Standard Champion 4 toilet - the one that "flushes golf balls." I installed several in my rentals. Last week one of my units had a hairline crack in the toilet tank flooding the half bath and the adjoining kitchen. When I went to buy a new tank from the orange store online, I discovered that this is very common with this tank. Has anyone else had this problem?  Anyway to fix without replacing tank?

I think I will switch to Toto....
