tenant screening applicant denial
Tenant screening: Hi everybody, was going over background check for applicant and while looking up a judgment in the circuit courts i notice three cases against him first one was in 2008 for carrying a firearm at the age of 18, second one was for a DWI in 2010, and third one was for a pending trial that is for DWI and carrying a firearm in 2017.currently the applicant meets all my minimum qualifications and am not sure if i can legally deny him due to my finding. Am i able to deny the applicant with these findings? Its to my understanding that denying a applicant for drug related crimes violates the disability act because the government considers addiction a disease. How can I legally deny this applicant without opening my self up to a discrimination claim? This applicant sister is a tenant of mine and is a great tenant and her roommate is moving out, this applicant happens to be her brother who want to move in and now i have to deny him.
