Tenants want a fire pit

Hello, I have been thinking over and over to what to say to my tenants about the fire pit they want to build. My tenants have been renting for almost a year and never had any issues with them and they are a lovely family. Few days ago I get a text from them asking if it is okay if they can build a fire pit on my backyard. At first I was like yeah that sounds like a good idea however I don’t know if I should give the okay to let them do it. My response back to them was that is not bad of an idea specially for this cold nights to have a fire pit but that I have to check with the HOA to see if a fire pit is allow to be built. As far as I know, there wouldn’t be a problem with the HOA but I wanted to get some thoughts whether is a good idea to allow tenants to do mini projects? I want to thank you all in advance for all inputs :)

There are far too many negative factors involved to allow a tenant to have a fire pit. Liability is through the roof. Tenants are not to be trusted to be responsible.

Absolutely not something you should allow a tenant to have.

No fire places, pools, fire pits, trampolines, swing sets, etc. Simple answer to most tenant requests is ....No, sorry my insurance provider does not allow it.
