Enforcing use of biodegradable laundry soap
My wife and I are closing on a house with a guest home we will be using as a house hack and preparing to list one unit for rental. The unit we will be renting out only has a gray water drain in the laundry room. For this to be legal (and non-lethal to our plants) a biodegradable laundry soap must be used.
My question is how do we enforce this in our rental agreement? Has anyone done this before?

Although unusual, if it is that important to use biodegradable detergent, I would just provide tenants with that kind of detergent every month. Heck, use it as a marketing angle in your ad, ie, "Biodegradable laundry detergent provided to tenant every month!" And then charge a little extra $25/month. Of course, you would also want to write it in your lease. But, that doesn't mean tenants will necessarily do that all the time.
