Apartments for Convicted Felons

hello everyone,

My buyer who is purchasing a condo in RI has asked me to assist her brother who is a convicted felon to find him an apartment for him and his friend. My first quick answer I thought of saying was "there is nothing I can do" but I said I will see what I can come up with and try to direct them to the proper sources of info. Question is, how do you find an apartment for convicted felons in RI when most landlords run background checks on 85-90% of the time on potential tenants.

@Raymond Hill I recently had a potential tenant who was in a similar situation. He was very honest about what he had done and that he was on probation, he even provided his PO information so that we would have some good references. My recommendation is to have your client be as transparent as possible. Depending on the type of felony history, some landlords will give him a chance.
