Where to post rentals online for Chicago

I'm about to start listing my apartments - what are you using to post them for an open house?

A little late on this thread, but I thought I would share my good experience so that might help others. I have had great luck filling my rentals using (free) Turbo Tenant. You enter info once and then it syndicates your marketing info/pics to something like 25+ sites (all the standards like Zillow, HotPads, CL, etc.) I was surprised when I listed a rental and started getting calls within the first day that my ad was posted using the service. They offer some sort of background check service to prospective tenants, too, but you don't have to use that to use their free online marketing service.

I have not had luck with Domu or CL in recent years.  The zillow network does Zillow, Trulia and Hotpads so I just use that and radpad.com and sometimes padmapper.

I do not advertise it as a open house, but when they email about an appointment I offer to show between X-X on that day and have a bunch of people come

@Eric La Pratt Depends on the area. Craigslist has been garbage for me lately. Hotpads has treated me good, Trulia not so much.

Your neighborhood likely has numerous buy/sell/news pages on Facebook, and those have been getting me a great response. A huge plus is you've got access to the Facebook page of everyone that replies which can be very telling about how they live.

I also set appointments in 10 minute increments vs. a general open house.

Eric- I received best results from Zillow Network (hotpads, zillow, trulia).

I took @Brie Schmidt advice on open house and it works great (shows there is demand and saves your time)

i did post on all the ones mentioned above. I would recommend to do the same. Why not get the most exposure as possible. Takes 10 min for each site max.

Either Vflyer or rentalutions.com Rentalutions post your apartments for you and also handle the credit check, background checks and lease signing for you. It also gives you an option to accept rent payments online. It's one of the best programs for renting that I've ever seen

For 60618 and 41 Domu has given me the best hits. Followed by Apartments.com and the latter is free.

Bad experiences have caused me to stay well away from CL. Never again.
