My classic 1932 style home was ruined when a pipe broke.  My insurance is actual value less.depreciation.  The demo and remediation is done and now the insurance co. has come back with the numbers. My portion of the bill from depreciation can be reduced substantially if I don't replace the tile on the finished basement. The walls are down to cinder block after the demo crew did their thing. I would love some cheaper design ideas for the basement, but I want something that will stand up to moisture issues. The tile will be too expensive to replace. I would appreciate some safe basement design ideas.
