Rental Income Question

Hello All, 

I am just starting an eviction process. Do I need to show the rental income on my taxes or anything like this or even if the case goes to court etc? (Not trying to hide income but just wondering if I need to be prepared for this so ensure I have everything ready)

All you need in court is your lease agreement, and payment history records. Depending on reason for eviction you need thorough documentation. Expect the tenant to claim maintenance issue so have proof of maintenance reports and repairs done.

Being prepared with documented proof of everything is essential, he said/she said does not work. The fact that you are entitled to money must be proven. Being right does not necessarily entitle you to fair treatment. Memorise all the facts so you can answer questions correctly without hesitation.  Leave your emotions/personal feelings at home.
