Bad credit home rental

Hello, my wife and I are both disabled veterans. Before I was approved for my disability, I was out of work for a year and a half. As a result, my credit has suffered, making it difficult to rent a home. The owner of the home I currently rent has decided at the last moment to sell the home. We have less than a month  to move out. We have lived in this home for 9 years and have never missed a payment. Desperately need some help or advice. Thank you.
