Background checks in Ma

I have been doing background checks for a while in ma and no one seems to be coming up with any evictions or criminal background history. I am also dealing with low end rentals which I find this hard to believe. I heard Massachusetts has some different rules on checking. I'm wondering if anyone else in ma is having this issue and what companies should I use to get the best results. I have had companies give me back clean records while I find out through a simple Google search they are not clean.

If It is a CORI it is only multi-state, I think MA and bordering states. There are companies that do a full NCIC which will pull up felonies only for all 50 states.
