outrageous power bill

I live in a building with three apartments and there is only one power bill for the whole building and it is in my name!!!!! My landlord refuses to put the power in his name. Past and current tenants have come and gone without paying for power and now the bill is up to 5,284.00. I have no idea what to do about this and i am desperate for help. My landlord has now given me a 60 day notice and i do not want to be stuck with this outrageous power bill that is in my name and that i will be responsible for. The reason i have not had the power shut off is because i do not want to live in the dark. What can i do about this complicated problem and what are my legal options? Someone PLEASE HELP

My monthly power bill is between 350 and 400 dollars per month and my landlord dictates to me who is paying what and how much, with my bill always being the highest and im single, live alone, and work 7 days a week!!!!!
