Background and credit check on British citizens

Hi there - first time poster here (and about to be 1st time landlord).  Looking for advice from the collective gurus here on how to go about conducting a background and/or credit check on British citizens as part of an application process for our rental here in the U.S. (Seattle).

The couple are being transferred here on a multi-year rotation for the husband's Amazon.com job and I have seen proof of expected income from the offer letter but would also like to check on credit and criminal history if possible.

I had seen in other forums on here that folks referenced the ability to still do checks with some of the credit agencies as well as the ability to do background checks but didn't see any specific details on which providers offer these services.

Any recommendations from folks would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
