Damaged tenant trash receptacles

Hi all!

So I was out fixing a fence at my SFH rental property and noticed that the trash and recycling receptacles were both damaged. I asked the tenants about it and they stated that squirrels (or "some type of animal") chewed into the lids of the receptacles and were then able to gain access to the contents inside.

Clearly a issue i know. Per my lease agreement, it states under my "Property maintenance" section -  "Tenant shall deposit all garbage and waste in a clean and sanitary manner into the proper receptacles and shall cooperate in keeping the garbage area neat and clean..."

I am planning on emailing the tenant today to inform them at this single family property (in which they have their own trash service) that this is a violation of this section and that they need to replace the damaged receptacles within 30 days time. This of course is for the safety of the property to deter rodents as well as to the tenants as any rodent inside the receptacles when opening the lid would be hazardous to the tenant.

My question here is, does 30 days seem like a reasonable amount of time?

I don't think there are any legal state guidelines in regards to this either but has anyone that has single family properties that do not have to manage the trash and recycling ever faced this?

To me it makes sense and if my landlord asked me to do this due to the lease agreement I signed, told me its for my safety and the property I would't really think much of it. Just curious what others think on this one.

Thank you in advance!
