Awkward Encounter- Should I report
Hello BP,
I had a strange encounter with a prospective tenant yesterday. He was from out of state, claimed to have a contract for one year with a local company, was pressuring me to move quickly on completing a lease with him, and the only information I could find on him online was exactly what he told me (usually you find additional information like Facebook, etc.).
What's strange is that he filled out the whole lease application with me (most people take it home) and filled in everything. Then when he got to the disclosure about us being required to disclose information to law enforcement if they request it to fulfill the regulations associated with the patriot act he got up. Grabbed the application. Said sorry for wasting your time but I can't sign that and then essentially ran out the door. . .
I have a picture of the guys license, is this something that you would report to local law enforcement to be aware of? I've had people give up because they know I will actually check references and run background checks, but this was strange.
