Carpet vs. Laminate for a SFH to sell quickly

I have a 3BR/2BA single family home that we are fixing up to put on the market.  The carpet is odor-stained with animal urine and needs to be replaced. Most BP comments that I've read seem to favor laminate or vinyl plank floors over carpet for rental properties. But how about for a property that you're just trying get rid of? Is it any more or less expensive to have cheap laminate rather than cheap carpet put in? If it's the same price, then laminate may be worth it because it LOOKS better? (This was an investment gone wrong, so more than making any kind of profit, I'm mostly looking to limit our losses.)

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated!
