section 8 in camden nj or in urban area go or no

is any house a good rental ? lately i been thinking of taking a gamble on a house in a area i wouldn't be instrested in  under other circumstances but these houses are so cheap  its a give me . is section 8 good in any area? have any of you been stuck w a house that just wouldn't rent and it became a headache on you?  don't scare me to much though .. anxious to hear opinions
