The Annual inspection at the rental properties

Hi All!

I am ready to schedule an annual inspection with my tenant.  Would you recommend to bring a handyman with me and check out the house? If so, could you please recommend some good handymen at DFW area in Texas?

Thank you very much!

Agree with Dana Hoffmann

Think of the walk through as a diagnostic. Perhaps you find nothing (great!), perhaps you find a few minor things.

I've never done this, but if you're really curious and you've held the property for some time, hire an inspector the way you would if you were purchasing. If you don't want a formal report but just want to have them walk through with you and give you a checklist of recommendations I bet you could get a decent discount off the usual rate. I say this in part since it looks like you're ready to pay a handyman to join you.
