Providing tenant application to Collection Agency

Hello,

I am over in Mesa(outside Phoenix) Arizona and I have a past tenant (owner sold property and new owner declined to have us manage) who still owes us a partial payment for the last month. We just opened an account with a collection agency here in a valley and they are requesting that we send them the tenant application in addition to other documents. My question derives from the fact that I was under the impression that once we have an application we can not release that information.

Does anyone have any experience with this sort problem/solution? As well how does the collections route go for most people.
