Acquired Tenants / Lease Re-Structure

Tenant was acquired with property upon closing(they have lived in their unit for 2+ years with on time payments). Their previous lease includes a portion of storage in the basement with laundry access(also in basement).

Current set up: tenant occupies floor #2 with separate access to the basement for their laundry and storage.

Future plan: reno basement and remove storage/laundry access for tenant. The plan is to provide the tenant with their own stackable laundry in their unit and offer the shed for storage.

Is there a legal timeline needed to give such notice or is issuing a new lease best /covers all bases?
