Main sewer in duplex clogged with wipes and condoms
I'm sure I'm not the only landlord to have this problem. I get a call that there is sewage backing up into the basement. Plumber goes out and says its stuffed with wipes, tampons, plastic bottles, condoms, toys.... you get the idea. But the property is a duplex and so there's no way to know which unit is doing the damage. And of course, both tenants deny ever putting anything down the drains. Any advice on how to deal with this?Make them split the bill and say "sorry, but I don't know who is at fault here."? Or to quote Wierd Al: Just eat it? Any advice is appreciated.
