My friend rented out his duplex to a family 2.5 years ago.  After they moved out, the property was damaged significantly.  The security deposit was $3000 but he spent closed to $5000 to repair it.  He told the tenants that he used the money for repairs and didn't ask for the different.  The tenants didn't response until last 2 months, my friend received a court order that the tenants sued him in small court for close to $10K for not refunding security deposit.  At the small court, my friend lost the case because he didn't send the tenants the itemized statement of the repairs. He had all the receipts and proof of the damages and repairs but without the itemized statement, the failed.  He submitted an appeal the the court and wants to hire a lawyer to represent him at the appeal.  Does anyone know any lawyer that you can recommend?

Thanks,
Loan
