What to pay a young adult or teenager?
What to pay a teenager or young adult to come to your house twice a week to check on a rental or primary house while you are away for a few months, bring in & out the trash cans and other duties that can be done.

Aloha,
At one time, we provided a service to Clients who had second homes that sit vacant 10 months out of the year. We based fees on square footage and/or BR's and BA's, depending on the individual Owner/property requirements. Typically I would visit twice per month, run hot and cold water in all fixtures; flush all toilets; operate on a short cycle, the dishwasher and washing machine; check all rooms for anything out of place or signs of leaks or other issues (many were condos, affected by issues in other units); if they had a car, I would take the car out for a 15 minute drive and handle registration renewals and safety checks when due; some properties we needed to coordinate pre and post cleaning when Client was going to visit. As I recall, the charges varied from $150 per month, and this was over 10 years ago.
Keep in mind, teenager or otherwise, they may become employees based on your control of what/when they do, or at the very least, will require a 1099 if you exceed $650 for the year. Either way, you have an additional liability.
