shooting in duplex tonight
Hi all need to keep this short, I'm on scene right now. Property is uninsured. There was a shooting in unit 2 tonight. Building is red taped while they investigate. Sounds like it took place between womans new boyfriend and ex lover who showed up. Woman is the only person named as tenant on lease. Woman was screened and has clean background.
What liability, if any, do i hold? My thought is none, since there was no negligence on my part.

Putting tenants into a property that is not insured is stupid. Plain and simple. If there is something that needs to be fixed to get it insured, then fix it, get insurance, then put tenants in the property.
Lawyer up and quit posting stuff on public forums. The potential problems are obvious. You are going to get sued by the family of the person that got shot. Prepare yourself for that and if it ends up not happening, you got lucky.
