Risks associated with rentals on busier roads
I generally buy homes that are not on the corners of busier roads (I like to be nestled back in the neighborhoods, like most home owners.) I've got one rental, however, that's on a corner lot on a two lane road that gets a pretty decent amount of traffic. I purchased it as kind of an experiment based on what I read by some people that they like busier roads to give them exposure to drive-by tenants. (In this day of internet marketing, I question whether this is really valid, particularly since I never use signs anymore.)
In my first year, I have had two cars crash into the fence. (Yippee.) I'm kind of curious if this is just a string of bad luck, a function of being on a busier road, and/or a function of being on a corner lot. Anyone else had similar issues?
