I am a landlord who is interested in knowing how to get rents without tenants using the mail. I know there are banks who will do direct deposit, but some charge for this service. Any suggestions you investors have that do not charge for this service would be appreciated. thanks for your help

I know this wasn't an answer you were looking for, but we like mail. We have tenants in multiple states so its either mail or online. We send out statements on the 22nd of the month with a return envelope, just like any other bill you would get. They just tear off the bottom and put in the return envelope with a stamp. If they are local we have a rent drop box at our office they can drop it into.

We have tried several other methods without much success. We primarily deal in affordable housing and most of our tenants are off the grid. They don't use computers or have checking accounts. For some, we even have to teach how to get a money order.
