Do you have to rent to people that dont work and just recieve disability?
I dont like renting to people that just recieve social service checks as income for 2 reasons.
1. If you dont work for it you dont take care of it.
2. You cant not garnish social service income.

Our perspective....
We just took over a duplex where the one tenant is on social security disability because of a legit injury. Soc Services pay $224 of his $675/mo. He has never been late & took in a room mate to help with expenses.
Then we have a mid 50's gentleman who rents a SFH from us for $675 & is also on Soc Security Disability. He has ALS that sadly is advancing quickly & we continue to work with him. We went in & rehabbed a room on the lower floor to make it a large bedroom with a wide door so he could navigate his scooter that he is now confined to. We also took out the inside basement stairs to convert the space to a larger en-suite bathroom with stackable Washer/Dryer. Admittedly he insisted on paying for some of the material upgrades & it was worthwhile. His daughter visits weekly to do housework etc.
We originally bought the home as a trashed foreclosure so knew we had the margins to do a total rehab but this has become a special project.
He is petrified of being evicted if we don't get his check. He has mailed it out on the 3rd (the same day he gets his Soc Sec deposit) without missing a beat for 3 years now. He calls me every time he puts it in the mail then again a week later to make sure we got it.
Both of these gentlemen take excellent care of their humble abodes & we have no intention or need to raise their rents.
But it's true you cannot attach Soc Sec payments !!!
