Renting for $600 or less in USA

Hello

I was wondering is there any states or neighborhoods where rent is cheap in the USA. My budget is $600 or less. I prefer to live alone but I am open to sharing. I have checked renting apartments and homes websites and they are so costly. I also noticed after the first year rent goes up in some states. Are there any companies that help with finding cheap housing?

Almost any small town in the upper Midwest farming areas. I’ve seen 1200sf single family home rent for less than $500 in the farm towns I spend harvest season in. You’d probably have 1-3 acres of land and a garage.
