Had a tenant apply and ran her through my traditional screening with landlordstation.com. Came back social security number was off by 1 digit and not likely issued before 2011. But the info in the report seemed accurate and like it was hers. I don’t have many tenants and don’t do many reports so I was wondering if anyone else had ever seen something like this.
Yes I have her SS on my application as well as a copy of her drivers license. I’m not sure if she typed a digit in wrong when landlord station sent her the screening or if they are the ones making a mistake. As long as her references check out I’m going to pass her.

It is easy enough to get one number wrong. Get the right number and have the website doing the credit check to redo it or did they send hers?
@Timothy Frazier rerun with right number. My son had an employer make an ssn error and they actually took 2 years to fix so we assume on some databases he will come up for those years to have a history under his name and wrong ssn. The number belonged to some guy in Ohio but they didn't flag it until our bank picked it up.
Thanks to the responses. I actually had to deny this applicant for several other reasons. New applicants had exact match. That first applicant had a lot to not like I have a feeling she put that in 1 digit off on purpose.
