Grand Haven/Holland MI Mid Term vs Long Term
Hi everyone!
I own several duplexes in Grand Haven MI that I’ve been renting out long term (6mo - 1 year leases). Every unit is 2 bed, 1 bath, about 750 square ft, each with own driveways and backyard. Cash flow has been great (at about $825-$900/unit, tenants paying all utilities), but curious if there’s possibly more potential as a medium-term furnished rental.
I’ve been hearing more and more about medium-term furnished rentals for traveling nurses, traveling business people, travelers wanting to spend 1-6 months there, etc. Keep in mind Grand Haven is a tourist town in summers and our properties are about 2 miles from downtown/beach.
Has anyone in West Michigan or nearby been using this strategy? Mostly curious about occupancy, length of stays, and how much more I could rent for each month. Any tips/feedback would be awesome!
FYI my town is strict on AirBnB laws and we aren't able to get a STR license.

@Luke Larkin the website furnishedfinders.com is the “go to” place for traveling nurses to find homes. You can also use it as a guide for what properties are renting for in your area. I’m just over the bridge in Spring Lake and have been thinking about going this route in the Muskegon area. Reach out if you want to connect!
