Self Directed 401K transition

I've recently become aware off the self directed 401k. I have a 401k from a previous job which I can no longer contribute to. Having these funds, or a portion of them available to use for real estate investment appears attractive to me.

Being 100% vested, can I roll my 401k into a self directed 401k?

Does anyone have experience with setting these up?

@Brett Carter

Not only you can rollover your previous employer 401k and control how these funds are invested, you can also shelter up to $58,000 of income from your flipping business by contributing your earnings to this plan.
