Information on Pay to Delete
Good Morning All,
I am now in the position to begin fixing my credit score, but have a series of accounts in collections. I was thinking of contacting the creditors and paying them but during my research on line, I am not sure how to go about doing so. Anyway, throughout my research, I have found one way to do a pay to delete without actually contacting the creditor. I was told that if you have an account that you want deleted, you may get better results if you send a check with the amount in full and on the check you inform write, "By accepting this payment, you are agreeing to delete this account from all credit reporting agencies." If they cash the check, they have agreed to your terms and should cease negative reporting. Does anyone know if this is true or not? Please advise.
