Where to park your money between loans

Hello, I just got started with PML with one of my retirement accounts.  I was wondering where folks who partake in this business hold their capital when it isn't loaned out?  I would assume a high yield savings might be the easiest and most liquid option but I'd like to hear from those that are seasoned.
