Looking for CPA / Advice on Online DIY Cost Segregation Study
I'm looking for a CPA this year who's knowledgeable about STRs! I converted a house hacking home into an STR and I'd like to perform an online DIY cost segregation study, such as KBKG.com, and apply bonus depreciation at the 60% rate this year. I self-manage the property, therefore I believe I can utilize the STR tax loophole, and apply these losses to eliminate my W2 income. The home is approximately $500K, and has some improvements.
My question is: how reliable are online DIY cost segregation studies? Has anyone had a negative experience? Can someone help me find a CPA that has experience with this?
