don't start with a 'mentor' or coach
go to meetups, make friends, build a network
good luck
Hello Selena!
Nicholas is right, the most important thing to do to succeed in real estate is to develop a team of professionals you feel confident working with and the best way to do that is by networking and getting to know people. You're already on the right track starting here, take advantage of the learning materials here on BP but also get out there and meet people. We live in a great city with an active community of intelligent investors and professionals.
We're here if you need anything!

Hey Selena, I would avoid a "coach" as well. I am an investor and realtor here in South FL and I can advise you on getting into multifamily property. I would advise against a coach as they're just going to give very general advice vs advice you on a specific property. Not worth shelling out a few thousand dollars for a coach in any market.
Hi everyone! I just joined BP community. I bought my residential one family house in 2020. I am house hacking with two tenants that take care of my mortgage payment. Now, I want to starting investing in real estate. I live in Jersey City , NJ and I would like to build my team(lender, real estate agent, and lawyer etc ...). Is there any suggestion? Meet up group?
Thanks.

Sounds like you're off to an amazing start. Regarding realtors, I'd recommend @Shawn Mcenteer as he's a great investor and realtor in NJ!
Hi @Zoumana Fofana happy to help. I can help with all of the above, including meet up group. Sounds like you are doing well with your primary. Is another house hack a possibility for you?

Hi Shawn!
Thank you for post. Can you give me your contact for more conversation.
Thanks.
To invest in multifamily properties, start with education on property evaluation, tenant management, and ROI calculations. Focus on properties with 2-4 units, estimating rehab costs, and evaluating after-repair value. Transition to flipping, which involves more risk but potential profits. Network with local investors, agents, contractors, and mentors, analyze deals using calculators, and consider financing strategies like FHA, VA, or conventional loans. Develop an action plan and learn from mistakes to become a better investor.
Good luck!

Thank you Ray. I see so many coaching people out there and I feel like I would be giving money away like a scam! I have no problem meeting people and will get back to networking events. Selena
