Money judgement for tenant working out of state.
I've started an eviction on a tenant and was seeking a money judgement. The court called to inform me they were having a hard time personally serving him. I've still been able to stay in contact with tenant and he informed me that he had moved from Michigan to Alaska to do offshore fishing for a season before returning. Because I wished to get a money judgement I know he is supposed to be personally served which is very difficult now. I was wondering if I could write something up and have him sign it (he's already told me he's willing to sign) saying that he understands and agrees he owes me the amount on the paperwork, if the judge would take that into consideration and grant the money judgement. Or if there was possibly another way to go about still getting it as this is sort of a no traditional eviction.
