Looking for a CPA in the Chicagoland area, I live in the west suburbs, Downers Grove, Westmont area. Any references would be great, thank you!

I've used Kenny and Kenny in Lagrange/western springs area. Easy to deal with and understand things from a real estate perspective.

Have you bought about an out of state CPA that understands the area of taxes that you are looking for help with.

Linda Weygant or Brandon Hall have came highly recommended here on Biggerpockets

Local most of the time would be better since you get the chance to really build a relationship with the person but that's not always the case.

Good luck with your Search if I hear of any in the Chicagoland area I'll send you their info

Here is a great list of questions to ask a potential accountant:http://www.biggerpockets.com/forums/51/topics/70447-questions-to-ask-a-cpa

Also check out the www.NAEA.org page in your search. It should help you find someone local. If someone comes to me, I'll send them your way.

If you need help in your search or want to verify something don't hesitate to ask.

For example: I have clients worldwide and things are just as easy as I e-mail them, talking on the phone. I even use Skype and TeamViewer to communicate with clients so I'd highly recommend looking for one of the best with great references that interviews well with you.

So look for someone you can connect with that works out for your situation.

Feel free to ask here if you have questions.

If you need a direct referral feel free to PM me as I have a name or two I can give out.

    @John Yanko @Chris Carollo @Trevon Peracca

    Have you all found a CPA yet? I was looking for 1 a few months ago and decided to hire @Amanda Han from Keystone CPA.

    Even though she's not local, we have been in touch with her office to get feedback on strategies and questions. And I like it that we can conference call with them after our work hours while it's still business hours for them.

    I enjoyed @Brandon Hall's podcast as well. And he pointed out you don't really need a local CPA unless you need that one to one meetings. Use one that you feel comfortable with that is experienced in the industry.
