@Mandy McAllister Do you want a local CPA or are you confident utilizing a non-local CPA? Going the non-local route will allow you to find a CPA that really fits your needs as you have a larger pool to select from. Additionally, you will be more likely to connect with a real estate savvy CPA. For instance, I have clients all over the U.S. and our meetings are supplemented with various technological solutions such as Skype, Google Hangouts, and encrypted document sharing platforms. The only thing I can't do is shake my clients' hands. If you decide you'd rather go the local route, contact a local REIA or your state CPA board and ask for referrals as they are more than willing to help. Make sure you vet the CPA properly to assure they are real estate savvy. But if anything, keep doing as you are and ask investors for referrals. Good luck!

CPA recommendations?

Anybody have a CPA they think highly of? My CPA/JD/LLM's team made a pretty egregious error on my return (that I will have to pay thousands to correct) and gave me advice to set up an LLC for an underwater rental property. I'm pretty clear I need a change. Any recommendations?
